Hydratite

Hydratite is a structural aluminium waterproof blind rivet featuring a tri-fold rivet design with an integrated EPDM sealing rivet washer. Designed for thin sheet materials, plastics, composites and low-strength assemblies, it provides a large blind-side bearing area that distributes load evenly, reducing material damage while delivering high joint strength, vibration resistance and reliable fastening performance.

The structural Hydratite breakstem fastener features a visible mechanical lock that delivers superior joint strength and enables quick visual inspection, ensuring correct installation every time.

The integrated EPDM sealing washer transforms Hydratite into a reliable sealed blind rivet and leakproof blind rivet, preventing the ingress of water, air and dust in demanding environments. Hydratite is widely used in roofing and building systems, solar structures, caravans, trailers, recreational vehicles (RVs), commercial vehicles, HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, sheet metal fabrication, appliances and general industrial assemblies where durable structural fastening and environmental sealing are essential.

Specifications

Sizes: 4.8 mm and 6.4 mm (3/16" and 1/4")

Material: Aluminium Alloy

Head Form: Protruding

  • Large blind-side bearing area distributes the load evenly, minimizing material deformation and pull-through.
  • Tri-fold split tail formation spreads the clamp load for improved joint strength in thin and low-strength materials.
  • High pull-out resistance delivers secure, long-lasting fastening in demanding applications.
  • Structural breakstem design with a visible mechanical lock provides exceptional vibration resistance.
  • Visible mechanical lock enables quick visual inspection to verify correct installation.
  • Multi-grip capability accommodates variations in material thickness, reducing inventory requirements.
  • Ideal for fastening thin sheet metal, plastics, composites, and other low-strength materials.
  • Integrated EPDM sealing washer provides reliable waterproof and leakproof fastening, making Hydratite an ideal waterproof blind rivet for outdoor and weather-exposed applications.

Hydratite breakstem fasteners are designed to join a variety of material combinations, including:

  • Metal to Metal
  • Metal to Plastic
  • Plastic to Plastic

Its large bearing area makes Hydratite particularly suitable for thin sheets and low-strength materials. The integrated EPDM sealing washer enables Hydratite to function as a sealed blind rivet and leakproof blind rivet, making it ideal for applications requiring both structural strength and environmental sealing.

Hydratite structural tri-fold blind rivets are designed for thin sheet materials, plastics, composites, and lightweight assemblies requiring high joint strength, vibration resistance, and waterproof fastening performance.

  • Roofing, Cladding & Building Systems

Hydratite is widely used as one of the preferred blind rivets for roofing applications including metal roofing, wall cladding, sandwich panels, prefabricated buildings, portable cabins, roof flashings, ventilation systems and outdoor structures requiring waterproof fastening.

  • Solar & Renewable Energy

Solar equipment enclosures, combiner boxes, inverter cabinets, cable management systems, electrical housings, and balance-of-system sheet metal assemblies.

  • Caravans, Trailers & Recreational Vehicles

Hydratite is widely used as blind rivets for caravans and blind rivets for trailers, securing exterior panels, roof assemblies, composite side walls, storage compartments and access hatches while maintaining leakproof joints..

Body panels, plastic trims, HVAC housings, truck bodies, bus bodies, utility vehicles, cargo bodies, and refrigerated vehicle assemblies.

  • HVAC, Appliances & Electrical Enclosures

Air handling units, ventilation equipment, refrigeration systems, domestic appliances, control panels, electrical cabinets, and weatherproof enclosures.

  • Plastics, Composites & Sheet Metal Fabrication

Hydratite is suitable as blind rivets for composite panels and blind rivets for plastic sheets, including FRP/GRP panels, plastic mouldings, fabricated enclosures, machine covers, cabinets and lightweight industrial assemblies where large bearing area and reduced material damage are important.

Waterproof blind rivets are commonly used for roofing, cladding, HVAC systems, trailers, caravans, solar structures, electrical enclosures, and other outdoor applications where secure fastening and protection against moisture are important.

Leakproof rivets include a sealing washer that helps prevent water, dust, and moisture ingress, making them ideal for roofing panels, outdoor equipment, and weather-exposed structures.

Yes. Roofing rivets distribute the load over a wider surface area, helping reduce pull-through and panel damage in thin sheet metal, plastic, and composite panels.

Their structural design, wide load distribution, and vibration resistance help create secure joints that can withstand demanding operating conditions.

A sealed Bulb Tite blind rivet or leakproof breakstem rivet is commonly used because it offers both structural fastening and waterproof sealing.

They provide strong fastening, moisture protection, wider load distribution, and good vibration resistance, making them suitable for demanding applications.

They are suitable for compatible thin sheet metal, plastics, composites, and other low-strength materials, depending on the application requirements.

A visible mechanical lock provides a quick visual indication of correct installation, making inspection easier and helping ensure the rivet is properly secured for reliable joint performance.
